De Newland HR52 is uitgerust met een megapixel barcodescanner hierdoor is de HR52 een van de snelste en meest nauwkeurige scanners op de markt. Hij leest vrijwel alle 1D- of 2D-barcodes in elke omstandigheid, inclusief DotCode op tabaksproducten. de scanner bestaat uit witte verlichting in combinatie met een duidelijke kruisvormige laserspot, deze biedt ideale omstandigheden voor eenvoudig scans. Een druk op de knop zorgt ervoor dat de juiste barcode wordt vastgelegd, zelfs als deze wordt omringd door andere barcodes, dankzij de Acuscan richttechnologie van Newland. De HR52 is beschikbaar in een USB en Bluetooth variant
